Sherika De Armas, who represented Uruguay at the 2015 Miss World pageant, has died at the age of 26, according to local media.
The young woman reportedly died last week after a two-year battle with cervical cancer.
The death of Sherika De Armas was highlighted by several relatives, but also by the current Miss Uruguay, Carla Romero, who stated that the deceased was “one of the most beautiful women I have met in my life”.

Representing her country at just 18 years old, De Arma failed to make it into the top 30 at the 2015 Miss World finals in Sanya, China.
Nevertheless, she was praised for the beauty of her face, her height and her charisma and was described as “one of Uruguay’s rising stars”.
“I always wanted to be a model, whether it was in a beauty pageant, a commercial or a runway show,” she said at the time.
