Former NBA star Josh Jackson was accused of raping a woman in New York last year, according to a lawsuit filed by the unnamed plaintiff.
The lawsuit, obtained by the Kansas City Star, alleges Jackson met the woman at a Super Bowl afterparty on February 13, 2022.
Jackson, the woman and others allegedly partied and drank alcohol all night before the 2017 draft pick texted her to “get through” to his hotel at 3 a.m. after the woman went home was.
The 26-year-old player, then a member of the Sacramento Kings, helped the woman find her phone by calling earlier that night.
He also appeared to offer her money to come to his hotel, allegedly texting her, “I have $1,500 for you if you show up.” She did not accept the money.

However, the woman agreed to go to his room at the New York Edition in Manhattan because she believed the party was still in progress, the lawsuit says.
But when she arrived, she discovered that only Jackson was there and he reportedly greeted her wearing only basketball shorts. She told him she wasn’t there for sex, the lawsuit says.
The woman, identified in court documents as Jane Doe, was reportedly tired from a night of drinking and lay on Jackson’s bed facing away from him.

The Star received a police report about an alleged sexual assault that occurred at the edition the same day. It is not clear whether the police report is related to the claims in the plaintiff’s civil lawsuit.
The police report describes a suspect who is 1.80 meters tall. The woman told police that the man tried to climb on top of her before she pushed him away.
The police report said the woman could not remember what happened after she arrived in the hotel room, while Jackson’s lawyer said his client was “never contacted” by authorities about the “baseless” allegations.
The civil lawsuit accuses Jackson of assault and battery. Jackson’s attorney, John Lauro, says the women “maintain a provocative and sexualized social media presence while seeking relationships with professional athletes and others.”
Meanwhile, the woman’s lawyer said: “This case is not about money for them.” [woman]” Seamus Barrett told The Star. “This is about ensuring that the defendants, including Mr. Jackson, are held accountable for their outrageous and unlawful actions.”

NBA center Andre Drummond was also named in the lawsuit because he allegedly hosted the party and invited the woman who was romantically interested in him, according to the lawsuit.
After leaving Jackson’s room and eventually taking the morning-after pill, the woman allegedly became the victim of a home invasion and robbery that she said was organized by Jackson.
The woman was sleeping in her apartment, the lawsuit says, when two women wearing “hoodies” entered her bedroom. One of them appeared to have a gun in her hand and was being threatened with “murder.”
According to her attorney, the incident was reported to the NYPD.
The woman is also suing another man who texted her the morning after the alleged rape and accused her of stealing one of Jackson’s watches.
The messages were described as “threatening”, with one reading: “Josh won’t let that happen, trust me!”
The woman claimed not to know anything about Jackson’s watch.
Jackson played for the Suns, Grizzlies, Pistons and Raptors before his stop with the Kings.
