A massive fire has destroyed the home of former NFL star and Super Bowl champion Earl Thomas, according to firefighters in Orange County, California.
The massive blaze began Thursday afternoon, and Fire Chief Matt Manshack told reporters at the scene it was a “total loss,” according to reports from 12 News.
It was also reported that firefighters would be at the property into the night as they continued to fight to put out the blazes while it is still unclear what started the blaze.
Officials told reporters at the scene that no one was in the home when the fire broke out and that Thomas was later present at the property before leaving.
The 33-year-old last played in the NFL for the Baltimore Ravens in 2019, but had previously won the Super Bowl during a successful eight-year tenure with the Seahawks.

The Southeast Texas native has since stirred controversy, and was arrested at Spanky’s Bar and Grill in May of this year on an Austin warrant for violating a court protection order.
This was initially because he had allegedly sent his wife threatening messages about her and their children.

Thomas had previously been in trouble with the law and was arrested at a bar three months ago
It was reported at the time that Thomas was booked into the Orange County Jail and was soon released on $15,000 bail.
The original May 2021 protection order requires him to communicate with the woman only through a co-parenting phone app, and she claimed he refused to download the app and showed up unannounced to locations she was looking for, according to a police affidavit visited.
In May 2020, Thomas’s wife was arrested after being accused of pointing a loaded pistol at his head after breaking into a holiday home and finding him with another woman.
In November, she filed for divorce.
