Former Rocket Jean-Sébastien Dea travels to Russia

Jean-Sébastien Dea from Quebec will continue his ice hockey career in the Continental Hockey League (KHL).

This was announced by Magnitogorsk Metallurg on Wednesday. Last week, the Arizona Coyotes submitted his name to unconditional waivers in an attempt to terminate his contract at the 29-year-old forward’s request.

In 2022–2023, Dea played four games with the “Yotes”. He played primarily for their American League farm club, the Tucson Roadrunners. In 67 games with them, he recorded 23 goals and 27 assists for 50 points.

Dea worked for the Laval Rocket from 2021-2022 and amassed 52 points in 70 games with the side, who play in his hometown. The product of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, he played 37 total National League games and also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabers.
