The Jaguar driver edged out fellow New Zealander Nick Cassidy with four laps to go. The Envision team representative fought for his position, but in vain. Evans teammate Sam Bird was third.
Antonio Felix da Costa (Porsche) was also struggling with the leading group, but was thrown back a few places as a result of a direct crash. The Portuguese recovered well and finished fourth.
The day’s winner secured a podium for the sixth time in a row. It’s been a difficult start to the year for Evans, whose best finish was seventh in Saudi Arabia. Despite his win, he is only ninth overall.
Cassidy closed in on the leaders with 61 points. Ahead of him, Jake Dennis (Andretti) was unable to collect any points in his last three ePrix and is stuck at 62. Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) remains firmly anchored at the top with 86 points.
Electric Formula drivers will benefit from a month’s holiday ahead of the two events in Berlin, Germany on April 22nd and 23rd.
