Mexican and US authorities said Monday they were working on the localization four Americans who were shot by gunmen in northern Mexico and then abducted shortly after crossing the border.
The four nameless Americans three men and one womanThey were in a white minivan with North Carolina license plates when they arrived in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, on Friday, the U.S. Embassy in Mexico said in a statement.
According to the embassy, shortly after crossing the border into Mexico, the gunmen shot the Americans’ vehicle and then took them to another vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The President of Mexico said Americans went to Mexico to buy medicine.
“I believe it will be resolved, I hope so,” said Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Obrador added that Mexico’s Department of Public Safety is working with the FBI to locate the missing US citizens.
The FBI offers a $50,000 reward for the return of the four and for the arrest of those involved.
