The National Police have arrested four young people for their involvement in the death of a 78-year-old woman in Andújar (Jaén), whose body was found last Monday in her home with “obvious signs of a violent death” and multiple injuries sustained by a white gun, according to one Police spokesman is investigating against her for alleged homicides. The same source has indicated that they plan to release a statement later today regarding the arrests and the context in which they took place.
The woman’s body was found Monday night in a house in the Almería sector of the Puerta de Madrid polygon of the municipality. Several neighbors had noticed her absence a few days ago and alerted the emergency number 112. The medical staff found the deceased woman on the ground and with multiple stab wounds.
Jaén government sub-delegate Catalina Madueño confirmed on Thursday that gender-based violence had been ruled out and specified that “several lines of investigation are open”.
From the National Police Station of Jaén, they said that the court in charge of the case, Number 2 of Andújar, declared the proceedings secret. Several people, whose identity and connection to the incident were not disclosed, have commented on the woman’s death in recent days.
