Four people were killed and four others injured, including two youths, after a mass shooting in Philadelphia on Monday night when a man wearing a ballistic vest was taken into custody.
A spokesman for the Philadelphia Police Department confirmed there were “multiple shooting victims” but said no further details were immediately available.
According to the Inquirer, officers received a call about 8:30 p.m. about a man armed with a gun in the Kingsessing neighborhood.
Philadelphia police were dispatched to 56th Street and Chester Avenue where they found several victims who were taken to a local hospital.
Nothing was initially known about the condition of the two youths who were shot.
Shortly after the shooting, a suspect was arrested nearby wearing a ballistic vest. The police themselves did not fire any shots.
