Police officers attacked a Queens home Sunday morning that was engulfed in flames after a stabbing that left four people dead, two officers injured and a 13-year-old in critical condition.
An unnamed male suspect was reportedly shot in the lower extremity during an ensuing fight that occurred just after 5 a.m. outside 467 Beach 22nd St in Far Rockaway.
The suspect, who was said to be in serious condition, was taken to a local hospital, police confirmed, and three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Another three were taken to hospital in critical condition, cops added – while two of the several officers who responded to the incident were slashed.
Dozens remained on scene after the fire, as did firefighters who responded to the call around 5:17 a.m. reporting a fire coming from the home. Within minutes, the fire was knocked down and officers were able to remove several victims. The incident remains under investigation.
