Parallel to the arrest of the suspects, aged between 35 and 40, two searches were carried out, she added at a press conference.
These individuals were all close to the activities of the Blood Family Mafia (BFM), led by Dave “Pic” Turmel, who is believed to be hiding in Portugal.
“These arrests are part of the MALSAIN project initiatives that have been taking place on our territory since 2019.”
Among the seized items we find “narcotics, ammunition, ballistic vests and things related to drug trafficking and armed violence,” adds Ms. Savard.
Police focused their efforts on Beauport and Lac-aux-Sables in a joint operation with the Séreté du Québec (SQ).
Recall that eight defendants in connection with this conflict appeared yesterday by videoconference at the Quebec courthouse.
