Four young brothers in Argentina are crushed to death after their house collapses

Four young brothers were crushed to death when their home in Argentina collapsed after their mother’s boyfriend reportedly dumped five tons of debris on the roof.

Four-year-old twins Benicio and Noah Nisi and their brothers Lorenzo del Rio, six, and Santino Hardoy, 10, were crushed in the collapse on January 9.

Defendant Catalino Daniel Lopez, 51 – who owned the house in El Jagüel, Buenos Aires province, Argentina – is said to have used the flat roof of the property as a warehouse.

But police say the roof collapsed under the strain on January 8, crushing the brothers to death. The family had just moved into Lopez’s home two weeks earlier.

Investigators later found that about “five tons of rubble” had been stored on the house’s flat concrete-slab roof, which they believe likely caused the collapse.

Lopez faces aggravated manslaughter charges and was exercising his right to remain silent at the time of reporting.

The boys’ grieving mother Pamela Nisi, 37, wrote on social media: “My four children have died, I feel like I’m dying. I do not want to live anymore.

“My twins Benicio and Noah and Lolo and Santino all went to heaven…”

“You have left me, Mama’s angel. Tell me it’s all just a nightmare For God’s sake, my children, no’

‘Who can take this pain away from me?’

She continued: “I can’t take it anymore, why is life unfair to me? Please I can’t anymore. I miss you, my lolo, my santi and my babies.’

Pamela has two other children aged 15 and 18.

The eldest lives in San Justo, but Valentine, 15, was outside the room calling emergency services.

He survived because he noticed dust falling from the ceiling and got up to tell his mother what happened before the roof of the house gave way.

The twins reportedly slept while Santino Hardoy and Lorenzo del Río played on their phones in bed.

Three of the boys are said to have died instantly, while the fourth died on the way to Santamarina Hospital.

Santino’s father, Pablo Ezequiel, told local media: “On Sunday they put rubble on the roof and we believe that’s why the building collapsed.

“They wanted to clear the terrace and didn’t put it on the street but on the roof. That weight, we think, brought it down.”

Meanwhile, family members and neighbors have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the victims’ funeral expenses.

Investigators told how Lopez stored the building materials just above the boys’ bedroom just hours before the collapse.

He had planned to expand the house.

He and Pamela had known each other through work for eight years but had only started dating a few months ago.

The investigations are ongoing.
