Fox News correspondent hospitalized after being injured in Ukraine

“We have a minimal level of detail at this time, but Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather more information as the situation quickly evolves,” Fox News executive Suzanne Scott said in a staff memo.

“The safety of our entire team of journalists in Ukraine and the surrounding regions is our top priority and is of the utmost importance,” Scott added. “This is a serious reminder to all journalists who risk their lives every day to bring news from the war zone.”

Scott said Fox will provide additional updates as the network learns more.

“Please pray for Ben and his family,” Scott wrote in his note.

Hall began his career as a war correspondent, reporting from the Middle East and Africa and reporting for several news organizations including The New York Times, Sunday Times, Agence France-Presse and the BBC.

Honored the memory of an American journalist killed in Ukraine

In 2015, Hall joined Fox as the network’s State Department correspondent. In his role on the network, he has filed reports over the years from dangerous conflict zones, including Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hall is also the author of Inside ISIS: The Brutal Rise of a Terrorist Army.

Hall’s injury was received a day after the well-known American journalist Brent Renault was killed in the Ukrainian city of Irpin.

Andriy Nebitov, chief of police in the Kiev region, said the Russian military fired on Renault, adding that “the occupiers cynically kill even international media journalists who tried to tell the truth about Russian military atrocities in Ukraine.”

Another journalist, Juan Arredondo, was also wounded in Ukraine on Sunday.

Press freedom groups denounced the violence journalists face while covering the war. The Committee to Protect Journalists after Renault’s death called on Russian forces to “immediately stop all violence against journalists and other civilians.”
