A Fox News reporter was seriously injured while reporting on the invasion of Ukraine from Kyiv.

Fox News producers and correspondents on Monday identified their wounded colleague as Benjamin Hall, who covered the war near Kiev amid an intensifying attack by Russian troops.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova said in a Facebook post that the journalist, whose name she did not name, suffered serious injuries to the limbs and is in intensive care.

She shared partially blacked-out images of Hall’s press identification from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

“I remind you, of course, that this is in a war zone, that information changes very quickly. We are working hard to get the best information possible and get all the details about what happened.”

He added: “The safety of our fox team is of course paramount and our highest priority.”

According to his bio on FoxNews.com, Hall joined the network in 2015 and is currently a State Department correspondent in Washington, DC.

During a briefing Monday afternoon, Defense Department spokesman John Kirby confirmed that Hall had been wounded in Ukraine and was being treated in a hospital.

Fox News producer Sean Langill tweeted to praise his injured colleague for his “phenomenal work” covering the war and prayed for a speedy recovery.

Bill Melugin, a Los Angeles-based Fox News correspondent, also tweeted about Hall, saying he “was injured during a newsgathering outside of Kyiv today.” He is now hospitalized and we don’t have any details at the moment.”

During his time on the network, Hall covered several foreign conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Somalia.

More recently, he has reported live on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, including hosting primetime specials from Lviv, Ukraine.

Hall attended Duke University and received a bachelor’s degree from the American University of Richmond in London and a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism from the University of the Arts London. Hall holds dual US and UK citizenship.
