FPF declares Alianza Lima's lawsuit unfounded: Matute remains sanctioned for seven months

Through a decision, the FPF Appeals Commission confirmed the sanction received by Alianza following the incidents in the League 1 final.

Alianza Lima received bad news shortly after the start of Liga 1 2024. Before the start of the local competition, the Appeals Committee of the FPF (Peruvian Football Federation) confirmed the sanction imposed on the blue and white team following the incidents recorded in the report 2023 final in front of Universitario. In this way, the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium will remain closed for seven months.

“Declare the appeal filed by the Alianza Lima Club against Resolution No. 128-CD-FPF-2023 without merit,” the letter said.

What was the FPF sanction against Alianza Lima?

After losing in the League 1 final, Alianza Lima received a harsh punishment. According to the FPF Disciplinary Commission report, the confidants will not be able to use their stadium for seven months and will also have to pay the equivalent of 20 UIT (almost 100,000 soles).
