For the filming of To Take Out, the sixth season of which will be broadcast on ARTV on August 25th, France Beaudoin reads tons of books that have marked the journey of her guests. “The takeout makes me read books that I wouldn’t have read and which basically wouldn’t have tempted me, but which lead me in a different way with the guests. It’s fun, because before, the artist agents told me that so and so would like to take their life out of the universe, but for the past two years, they’ve been telling me that so and so would like to take their life with them. It touches me,” she said. This fall, the presenter will celebrate the 100th show with Boucar Diouf and his two children, Simon Boulerice and Michel Tremblay, and Sylvie Léonard and her daughter Camille. “We wanted it to be festive,” says France.

Much like Takeout, Live From The Universe is celebrating an anniversary with Season 15 premiering September 16. “Fifteen years is a privilege. It’s rare. We value our privilege and our relationship with the public that has become so strange. It allowed us, over time, to do things that were less conventional. When people know us and know a little bit about our intentions, it means we can try things because we know we won’t be judged by the smallest comma. Coming back to Live is like going to school every time. It’s about finding the same world with a few exceptions. How touching. Even though we all have freelancers who allow us to do other things, Live is like a benchmark, something to rely on. There is something funny about this continuity of life, in a world where everything moves and everything changes. For me it was a balance in life.”

As the seasons progressed, the show was constantly renewed. “From the moment we realized that we had to be true to what the guest was experiencing, to what he is giving us as musical material, and not do what we thought were creative concepts to bring him to please, we renewed ourselves at every show, because whatever the song is, even if you don’t like it on paper, it’s rendered on air, it’s magnified because it’s going through someone’s life.

This season there will be a special program in the universe of La petite vie, the kidnapping of a guest, as well as the universes of Zaz, Bruno Pelletier and Marianne St-Gelais.
The identity of the first personality who will hear his musical universe will be announced later.

THE MEDIA WORLD ON THE MOVE

Since August 1, Meta has carried out its threat to block Canadian news content on Facebook and Instagram. This is in response to the Online News Act, which aims to force web giants to compensate news media for information about sharing their articles and reports. Nonsense for France Beaudoin, who has subscribed to several newsletters to promote local content. “It is important that our press is alive, that journalism is alive and can be a point of reference at a time when we need to be able to tell the truth from the false.” We see it with fake news.

At the same time, the media is in an unprecedented crisis. For the presenter and producer, solidarity with those who have lost their jobs and those who are still in office is essential to get through. “We never have an interest in the media falling. Diversity is healthy. I think we need to come together more than ever and show solidarity.

Also to give a voice to young people who want to get into the media, she has decided to produce “The Interns” with her company Pamplemousse Média, which we will see on Radio-Canada from October 5th. The documentaries profile budding journalists who, in their training, benefit from the excellent advice of several professionals, including journalist Marie-Maude Denis. “I want to say to young people that you have to believe in it, because through your vision it will happen. Will there be fewer productions but more budgets? There will be a lot to think about.”

Artificial intelligence is taking up more and more space. “I recently read a book about our origins that Jean-Luc Mongrain suggested: Sapiens. There is a component that deals with education, among other things. It’s been said to stop focusing on getting kids to memorize things. I’m not saying you shouldn’t have general knowledge, but you’re just a click away from finding the answer. It is also said to invest time in education so that young people develop their minds and critical sense to be able to tell true from false and have more faith in themselves than in the machine because we are us Quickly Rely on Google With Maps, Waze and other sites, we do what we’re supposed to do and stop thinking about it. Therefore, it is important to keep our sources of information, our journalists, our scientists and to give them a voice.”

On June 26, 2024 it will be 20 years since France Beaudoin is the wife of actor Vincent Graton. They’ve been a rock solid couple for two decades. “I always hesitate to say it’s perfect because it’s no more perfect than anyone else. We’re going through the same times as everyone else, but we form a team where our strengths and weaknesses are a pair. Every year France Castel writes to me that it is our wedding anniversary. I don’t think we’ve thought of that in 20 years! (laughs)”

NEW STEP FOR HIS DAUGHTER

This fall, her adopted daughter Juliette, 19, will begin studying literature. “I don’t know what she’s going to do. At the moment, she’s talking about editing a few scripts. She has always had a passion for books. His son Theo, 16, who we saw dancing at Revolution last year, will graduate from high school. “He hasn’t decided what he’s going to do yet, but he definitely has a passion for all things dance and directing. I would be surprised if he became an engineer or an accountant! For several years he has been teaching small children to dance; He loves to. He dances every day. I think it’s nice to see them happy in something they love.
