Paris, November 7th – The organization Wiphala France has denounced a new attempted coup in Bolivia for which it blamed the Civic Committee of Santa Cruz and the department’s governor, Luis Fernando Camacho.
We warn the international community of this situation, led by the same fascist actors of the 2019 coup that killed 38 people, he stressed in a statement shared with Prensa Latina.
The organization, led by Bolivian Yaneth Ramos, who lives in France, warned that Santa Cruz had been paralyzed for almost two weeks, a measure opposed by various sections of society, including within the department itself.
It’s not a strike, it’s a blockade affecting the most vulnerable communities, as pointed out by the people of Los Ayoreo, who were recently the target of an unacceptable attack in Concepción that burned their homes and drove them out of town he back .
Wiphala France denounced the pretext of using the date of the population and housing census in Bolivia to prepare for the coup and confirmed its support for President-elect Luis Arce.
We reject violence against indigenous people and support President Arce, who was elected with 55 percent of the vote, he said.
He also accompanied the sectors in Santa Cruz that are resisting and taking action against the strike.
In addition to condemning the coup, the organization accused its supporters of refusing dialogue to seek solutions.
