Francesco Salvi: what happened to him?
Loved by all Italians, endowed with unique charisma and sympathy, Salvi counts dozens of actor tests both in cinema and on television. His big screen career began in 1971 with a role in The Inhibitions of Signor Gaudenzi, a widower with a mental complex, although real fame exploded in the 1980s when he also landed on television.
One of his best-known roles is undoubtedly that of Torello in The Family Doctor, but Salvi hHe also starred in several episodes of Don Matteo, in the TV series Un passo dal cielo, in the mini-series Ricomincio da me and in many other successful products. He had his last important appearance in the TV series by Enrico Oldoini, after which almost every trace of him was lost.

During an interview with Repubblica, Francesco Salvi told of the difference between the fictions of the past and those of our day, many of which are on hiatus after just one season. When asked why, in his opinion, the products of the past no longer exist today, he did not hesitate to answer: “Excuse me, but I have to use the swear word: money. There was money, it circulated, the producers produced, the good guys went to work. And commercial television came, which meant money.”
In the past, the actor claims, the investment in the show was much bigger and it took a lot of determination to really believe in a project. However, today we work with few resources and without giving the right importance to the products.
After recent roles, Francesco Salvi has chosen to stay on the sidelines and make time for himself and his wife Angela, to whom he has been married for over 40 years. The actor is not overly attracted to the current environment in show business and has distanced himself somewhat from it.
