Frankie Dettori “reveals his surprising biggest worry on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” after his final day of racing on British turf

Frankie Dettori has reportedly revealed to his friends his biggest concern about appearing on the upcoming series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The 52-year-old jockey is set to head straight to Australia after his retirement to eat some creepy crawlies and take on some terrifying jungle challenges.

It has been reported that the athlete is keen to appear on the ITV show but is not as worried about the mistakes or trials as he is about his looks.

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: “Frankie is looking forward to the jungle but is just worried about who will do his hair there!”

This came after Frankie won both the British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot and the Champion Stakes on his last ride in Britain.

And he threw a huge celebratory dinner after finally hanging up his boots and running his final race in Britain.

The three-time champion jockey, who has enjoyed a 35-year riding career, hosted the star-studded bash at Grosvenor House in London.

He was joined by guests including Clare Balding, Simply Red’s Mick Hucwickel and Ronan Keating, with both Mick and Ronan making appearances.

Frankie, who announced his retirement from horse racing in December last year after 35 years, was said to have moved to I’m A Celeb last month.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Frankie is a superstar signed up for the Jungle casting producers as he is a legend in the world of horse racing and would win reality TV gold.”

“He may be tiny, but his personality is larger than life and he has real charm and a sense of humor.”

“Frankie would also be brilliant at the Bushtucker Trials because competitiveness comes naturally to him.” He has a wealth of stories that he could also tell around the campfire to entertain other campmates.

“Plus, as a lifelong jockey, he has had to keep his weight down so he can help coach the other starving contestants who subsist on rice and beans.”

Former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Frankie’s penultimate horse race is the Melbourne Cup in Australia on November 7. The reality show is scheduled to begin a week later.

Frankie had hinted that his days in the weighing room were coming to an end, but he officially announced his retirement two days after his 52nd birthday in December last year.

He said: “It was a very difficult decision because my heart wants to keep going but I have to use my brain even if I don’t have much of it!”

“I just turned 52. I want to stay at the top and be competitive enough to do justice to myself, my owners and my horses.” You have to face reality. I’m not as good as I was when I was 35. As you get older, you’re not as supple and strong.

“I want to finish to the best of my ability.” I think I’m still good enough to compete with the best at this point. I feel like I’m at the top right now, but it’s long past its sell-by date!

#Look at (Cristiano) Ronaldo, he played one minute and was on the bench the next. “I don’t want to end up struggling to compete in big races.”

Frankie, who made the announcement on ITV Racing, admitted his final lap of the track will be emotional.

He added: “The weighing room is a timeless capsule – you never feel old.” But the reality is that I’m old and I need to give up.

“Saying goodbye to the 35 years of my life will be exciting, but also torture.” But I have made the decision and am sticking with it. I try to look at it positively and make it a celebration.”
