In 2006, as President of Flamidor, he pleaded guilty to a total of 40 counts of illegally operating life insurance before the Autorité des Marchés Financiers and his heating company filed for bankruptcy.

He also admitted his guilt in 2014 after being charged with theft in a $900,000 tax evasion case. He then has to serve 2 years less in the church every day and pay a fine of $30,000.

Between his two incidents, Lacroix was also arrested for making death threats against his sister. He is eventually acquitted, but links to bikers and organized crime are exposed in court.
