The 59-year-old Floridian on Sunday received the unanimous support of the 16 committee members that gave him access to Cooperstown.

As a first baseman, McGriff spent 19 major league seasons. In addition to that of the Jays, he has worn the uniform of the San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

In 2,460 Major League Baseball games, he threw 1,550 carries and hit 493 long pitches, in addition to a .284 batting average.

McGriff has been invited to the All-Star Game five times and won the World Series once with the Braves in 1995. He was also considered a role model for humility and perseverance.

However, in the first 10 years of his eligibility, he never made it to the Hall and received only 39.8% of the ways at the Association of Baseball Writers of America in 2019.

The controversial ex-athletes Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were once again ignored. Her candidacy was examined for the first time by the panel of modern times.
