Freddie Freeman to Braves fans: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart”

ATLANTA — In a heartfelt social media post, Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman thanked Braves fans for their love and support.

Through the Atlanta Braves, nothing official was announced about Freeman’s status, they traded for first baseman Matt Olson from the Oakland A’s, marking the end of Freeman’s time with the Braves.

Freeman won the 2020 NL MVP title and earned five All-Star nominations in his 12 seasons with Atlanta.

In an Instagram post, Freeman said: “We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs together, but it’s those downs that made last year so special. You saw me grow from a baby face, marry my love @chelseafreeman5 and see how we brought 3 beautiful boys into this world. I’m so glad that my family became part of yours.”

“Freddie is definitely an amazing player,” Olson told reporters on Tuesday. “It just won’t affect what I come here and do. I’m here to be Matt Olson. That’s all I can really control.”

Freeman is expected to sign with the Dodgers or Yankees, although some sources say the Rays and Blue Jays are interested in him.

“I gave everything I had day in and day out and I hope you guys saw that too. Although our time has come to an end, I look forward to seeing you again and playing in front of you. When that time comes, I hope you remember all the wonderful memories we made together. I love you, country of the brave! Champions forever! Freeman ended his post with words.
