After a very festive edition in which the spotlight was on comedian Mike Ward, it was the turn of another figure well known to Quebecers to take the guest spot of En direct de l'universe. In fact, this Saturday evening was dedicated to the discovery of the musical side of an actor who we admire both for his talent and his artistic intelligence: Frédéric Pierre.
In the episode dedicated to him there were many absolutely enchanting moments, but one of the most striking was undoubtedly the one in which the death of Frédéric's father was discussed. When he was terminally ill, he told him that everything would be fine and that he didn't have to worry. To mark the moment, tears welled up in Frédéric's eyes as he saw Sophie Prégent take the stage to sing “Dis tout sans dire rien” by Daniel Bélanger. All in a stunning number that had only the actress's voice shining in our hearts. Frédéric Pierre was upset and shed a few tears. What a touching moment!
It's not the first time Sophie and Frédéric have met, they star together in the popular TVA series Alertes. The talented actress plays detective captain Stéphanie Duquette, while Frédéric plays loyal police officer Renaud Magloire.
In addition, the evening's episode was spiced up by the presence of a multitude of faces that Frédéric knew and appreciated, starting with his sister Véronique, his childhood best friend Daniel and several others. In return, they sang notable titles from the repertoire of Frédéric, who said he was a true lover of traditional music from all over the world. A little earlier in the show, the actor's heart was also touched when Chris de Burgh, an artist he had appreciated since his youth, offered him “Old Friend”, a song that he would have liked to sing with his now deceased friend Stéphane.
