John Cena stars alongside Alison Brie and Alice Eve in this entertaining action film from Pierre Morel.
Mason Pettis (John Cena) should have been a lawyer. He even tried it. But the army is truly his passion. That’s why he reported there before ending up in the special forces. Oh yes, he is married and the father of an adorable little girl.
There he takes a job as a bodyguard for Claire Wellington (Alison Brie), a journalist trying to get her career back on track by defeating Juan Venegas (Juan Pablo Raba), the dictator of Paldonia, an imaginary country to the south America, interviewed. And in the middle of the interview there is a coup that puts the lives of the three protagonists in danger.
John Cena, who can easily be described as Dwayne Johnson, faithfully fulfills his role as the kind father turned reluctant bodyguard. Alison Brie and Alice Eve also throw themselves into their roles with infectious enthusiasm.
The action scenes are pleasant, if not breathtaking – Pierre Morel does his work with the seriousness that characterizes him – the scenario is relaxing, if not exciting, and the whole thing is accomplished – there is no other word – like a non-alcoholic cocktail a break brain.
