With NBA free agency less than two weeks away, we’re getting a clearer picture of who exactly will be available this summer. Several players are facing decisions about player options for the 2023-24 season, and big names like Draymond Green and Kyle Kuzma have already turned them down.
Green, predictably, turned down his $27.6 million player option with the Warriors for next season. per The Athletic. The Warriors’ mainstay could remain in the Golden States, he will only try to do so with a longer contract. Kuzma also predictably turned down his $13 million option from the Wizards next season to move to free agency. per ESPN. Kuzma comes to the open market after averaging 21.2 points per game last season.
The Raptors were influenced by two player option decisions. Fred VanVleet turned down his $22.8 million option to become a free agent, while Gary Trent Jr. opted for his $18.6 million option to return to Toronto.
