French police accuse seven of robbing the set of the Netflix series Lupin

According to the BBC, French authorities have filed charges against seven people allegedly involved in the Lupin robbery last month. On February 25, about 20 masked thieves broke into the set of the popular Netflix project while it was filming in the suburbs of Paris and stole approximately $330,000 worth of equipment. The perpetrators set off mortar fireworks to carry out the heist, but thankfully, no one from the cast and crew, including star Omar Sy, was harmed.

Police charged seven people with armed robbery as part of an organized gang. French authorities are holding three of the accused in custody and four others under judicial supervision. The youngest in the group is 13 years old. Police said they have recovered some of the equipment stolen during the robbery and are still looking for anyone involved in the incident. Lupine isn’t the only Netflix project to be the victim of a heist this year. Just the day before, thieves had escaped with over $200,000 worth of antique props after breaking into the cars that were used to produce The Crown.
