French robbers arrested for stealing Brazilian jewellery

Two men have been arrested in the SaintDenis region of France and accused of stealing jewelery from a Brazilian woman who had traveled to Paris for Fashion Week, a fashion event held every six months featuring thousands of famous international brands. Although the crime took place at the end of September, investigations by the public prosecutor’s office (MP) were announced on Wednesday, April 23.

According to information from the AFP news agency, a Brazilian woman landed at RoissyCharles de Gaulle airport on September 27 and rented a vehicle for tourists. The identity of the victim has not been released, but French media reports that she is an executive at a luxury cosmetics company.

The Brazilian had her belongings taken away by the two robbers, identified by police as brothers, who approached the victim on a motorcycle. Criminals smashed the vehicle’s rear window and stole hand luggage and a luxury branded suitcase. Louis Vuitton🇧🇷 No one was injured in the action, said the deputy.

The Brazilian reported to the police and estimated the stolen goods at 3 million euros (17 million R$). The duo were arrested through a tracker installed in the stolen briefcase. According to investigators, the brothers were arrested at the family’s home. The criminals were charged with “aggravated theft”.

According to French newspaper Le Parisien, the brothers will appear in court this Thursday, 24th. The newspaper also reported that the duo were involved in another similar action. They attacked an American tourist who was in a taxi. According to police investigations, the victim’s purse contained only $9,000 (approximately R$47,000) worth of bills.
