The Canadian-American actor had struggled with his addiction to painkillers and alcohol for years and had been to rehab clinics several times.

During a recent television appearance, Perry surprised audiences by admitting he suffered from severe anxiety “every night” while filming Friends.

According to TMZ, no drugs were found at the actor’s crime scene on Saturday.

Matthew Perry was born as the son of Canadian journalist Suzanne Perry, who was Pierre Elliot Trudeau’s press secretary, and grew up partly in Ottawa.

He even attended Justin Trudeau’s elementary school, whom he allegedly once punched. “I was a stupid kid!” the actor said on the set of Jimmy Kimmel in 2017.

That same year, the prime minister challenged his former classmate. “What do you think of another fight, Matthew Perry?” wrote Justin Trudeau on the X platform on the occasion of April 1st.

In addition to “Friends,” Perry also appeared in films such as “Fools Rush In” and “The Whole Nine Yards.”
