That green team of the University of Stuttgart, consisting of 20 students with skills in different disciplines, founded the new one Acceleration world record with an electric vehicleRecording the time from 1,461 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.
The previous record was broken on September 23 in a test at the Bosch track in Renningen, Germany and the result was confirmed by Guinness World Records on October 6th. The attempt to set a new record was supposed to have taken place a few months ago, but an accident in July tore up the cards. During a test, the racing car crashed into the tire stacks and was badly damaged.
So it was rebuilt, but at its finest, an electronic problem in early September halted testing to finally arrive at the current record where everything worked perfectly. The 20 members of the GreenTeam, supported by various associations and consolidated realities (such as HWA, former partner of Mercedes in Formula E), They worked on the car for about a yearwhich was designed and built from scratch on a dedicated campus of the University of Stuttgart.
The ultra-light racing car, thanks to the use of carbon, e.g weighs only 145 kgand deliverable 180 kW power. The engines are two for four-wheel drive, unusual for a single-seater, all always developed within the university. Due to its low weight, the car pushes the equivalent of approx 1,750 hp per tonWith Accelerations up to 2.5 gwhich correspond to those experienced by astronauts when re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
