From the Avdiivka Front to the Dnipro: What is happening in Ukraine?

The military point 612 | The Russians are continually carrying out attacks on the Eastern Front to contain the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the south. Here the resistance took a position on the eastern bank of the Dnipro. Armaments agreement between Berlin and Kyiv

a period of very hard fighting that is almost overlooked by the media, which now focuses on the conflict in the Middle East.

Avdiivka Front (East). The Russian army continuously carries out attacks, relying on other units: there are elite units and attack groups made up of former prisoners. According to the Kremlin’s intentions, the maneuver would be a way to contain the Ukrainian counteroffensive on the southern front – but the losses would be enormous. The artillery duel continues: the invaders rely on quantity, the Ukrainian response is more precise. Kiev’s armed forces are holding out, but confirm the difficulties that have worsened in recent hours. In addition to Avdiivka, which the Russians are trying to encircle, there is strong pressure in various sectors of the Eastern Front: Kupyansk (an important railway junction) and Lyman, where the army has concentrated many resources, but also Bakhmut and Mariinka.

Dnipro Front (South). Moscow is trying to neutralize the enemy’s presence on the left eastern bank of the river, but the news is contradictory. Zelensky’s soldiers had for the first time captured and maintained a position in the territory occupied by the Russians, who then shelled the other bank, which was in the hands of the resistance, with artillery.

Sea front. Always follow the sea front as this can hold surprises. The intruders said they intercepted at least three naval drones in the northern part of the Black Sea overnight. Explosions were heard in Sevastopol, Crimea, around 3:35 a.m., which the Russians said was an attempt at sabotage by the resistance. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky has promised to maintain military pressure on the peninsula occupied by the Russians in 2015.

Front of arms. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Germany today. The two heads of state and government announced a joint venture between the Ukrainian state defense company Ukroboronprom and the German giant Rheinmettal: Together they will carry out maintenance and repairs for the vehicles sent by the Western allies and switch to production in Ukraine in the future. The project is in the hands of the former head of Ukrainian Railways, 37-year-old Alexander Kamyshin, who now heads the Ministry of Strategic Industries.
