An American has been arrested in recent days and accused of murdering his former partner, who had just remarried.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in Florida, Sony Josaphat went to the house where he once lived with his ex on Saturday morning. There he opened fire on his former flame and her new husband, killing both of them.
The crime occurred in front of Josaphat's daughter, who, like her father, called 911 herself to report the crime, CBS said, citing reports received by the sheriff's office.
According to the station, the suspect wanted to go to the house to pick up his daughter and take her to lunch. However, he is said to have been overcome by “excessive anger” when he saw the couple together and murdered them with several shots.
The man then reportedly called his priest to confess his crime before heading to the nearest police station to hand himself in to authorities.
He faces two murder charges, police said Monday. He is due back in court on January 8th.
