Washington, March 25, 2022 – The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) may contain wheat and soybeans, known allergens, in chicken breast components of ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken breast meal kits. We are issuing a public health warning because of concerns. Items not listed on the product label. FSIS issues this public health warning to help consumers recognize that they should not consume these products.
The Chicken Breast Meal Kit was manufactured from March 19, 2022 to March 22, 2022. The following products are subject to public health warnings. [view labels]:
- 11.55 oz “Freshly made chicken breast” plastic container, sold from 03/26/22 to 03/29/22, with lot codes TFNE078, TFNE079, TFNE080, TFNE081.
- 11.55 oz “Hannaford Freshly Made Meal Chicken Breast” plastic container. The sale date is from 03/26/22 to 03/29/22, and the lot codes are TFNE078, TFNE079, TFNE080, TFNE081.
The product has the facility number “P-46638” in the USDA inspection mark. These items have been shipped to retail stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
This issue was discovered when the manufacturing facility notified FSIS during the preparation of the chicken meal kit that an unusual seasoning was observed in the product labeled as grilled chicken breast.
There are no confirmed side effects from ingestion of these products. If you are worried about your illness, contact your healthcare provider.
FSIS has confirmed that the affected products are no longer sold, but is concerned that some products may be in the consumer’s refrigerator. Consumers who purchase these products are encouraged not to consume them. These products must be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.
