On Monday September 19, Elizabeth II was buried in the royal family vault of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, wearing an outfit she had chosen for years.
On Monday evening, September 19th, Elizabeth II was buried at Windsor Castle, the final leg of a major funeral day. The Queen’s remains, along with those of her husband Philip, who died in 2021, were transferred to the George VI memorial in the château’s Saint Georges Chapel.
According to the Chron, the Queen chose to be buried with very little jewellery. Most of them belong to the British Crown, one can imagine that those who follow her underground have sentimental value.
As for the last outfit chosen by the Queen… it remained confidential. Only members of the Windsor clan could pay their respects and see her one last time before the coffin was nailed shut. The Queen’s outfits have nonetheless informed us of her taste for colourful, fitted and simple clothing throughout her reign. So Elizabeth could have been tucked into a beer in a blue ensemble. It was definitely his favorite color.
