His funeral was celebrated privately at Les Espaces Memoria in Laval at 2pm where his loved ones could honor his memory one last time.
Prime Minister François Legault attended the funeral. Before the ceremony began, he spoke briefly to the media.
“She was a radiant woman, always in a good mood, then of course she is far too young, 63, to leave us. We are all very sad, the big CAQ family, today. »
— A quote from François Legault, Prime Minister
On Friday, at the same place where the funeral took place, members of the public were able to express their condolences to the family and loved ones of the former politician.
Ms Girault was elected MP for Bertrand in the Laurentians in 2018 and served as Minister for International Relations and La Francophonie and Minister for Immigration, Franciscan Formation and Integration during the first term of the Legault government.
Last July, the elected official announced that she would not be running in the October 2022 election due to her health condition.
