Furley Inc. Wine Meatloaf: Memory of a Foie Gras Parfait

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on Thursday recalled a Furley-brand foie gras parfait that lacked the information needed to ensure it was safe to eat.

The Furley Meatloaf Wine Inc. glass jar was missing the ‘Store in refrigerator’ notice.

MAPAQ therefore advises citizens not to consume the product and to return it to the store if it has not been kept in the refrigerator continuously since purchase.

The products with the missing information were sold by Hudson by January 18, it said.

“The operator is voluntarily recalling the product in question. It has agreed with MAPAQ to issue this warning as a precautionary measure. […] Even if the target product shows no signs of tampering or a suspicious odor, its consumption may pose a health risk,” MAPAQ said in its press release.

In addition, no case of illness related to the consumption of this food has been reported to date.
