Future Queen of England Camilla turns 75 with honors

Married to Prince Charles since 2005, Camilla Parker Bowles arrives on her 75th birthday with a different status than previous birthdays: she is the future consort of the Queen of the United Kingdom. In February this year, Queen Elizabeth II ended an ageold mystery by sending a message asking that the title be bestowed on her daughterinlaw when she dies.

The anniversary was celebrated by the British monarchy on social media. “Happy 75th Birthday to the Duchess of Cornwall,” wrote the official profile, giving Camilla the monarchical title she currently holds.

In the comments, many connoisseurs of the British monarchy congratulated the profile of Clarence House, the official residence of the Duchess and Prince Charles. “Thank you all for the kind messages and best wishes on the Duchess of Cornwall’s 75th birthday today,” the message read.

For the date, the Duchess also won a new official portrait taken at her residence. She was also honored by the official portrayal of Prince William and Kate Middleton, but not the side of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are currently estranged from the British royal family.

The title of Elizabeth II and the title promised to Camilla have a difference. The current Head of State of the United Kingdom is only “Queen” because she is the monarch, while Camilla will be “Queen Consort” since the heir apparent is actually her husband Charles, who will be King.

Conflict with Lady Di

Camilla is the second wife of Charles and has had a controversial career in the royal family. She was publicly blamed by Princess Diana for the end of her marriage to Charles, which ended in 1996.

“There were three of us at this wedding so it was a little crowded,” snapped Diana. Camilla was also married at the time to officer Andrew Parker Bowles, from whom she separated in 1995.

For many years, given Diana’s popularity, Camilla was heavily criticized by connoisseurs of the royal family, and there was an expectation that she might not have held the title of Queen Consort bestowed upon the wives of kings. The latest news not only signaled Elizabeth II’s approval, but also dispelled rumors that 73yearold Charles could abdicate in favor of his son Prince William.
