“It is a beautiful gift of life,” says Gaétan Girouard’s widow Nathalie Préfontaine. “We wanted there to be considerations about mental illness because it’s still relevant today.”

25 years after the disappearance of Gaétan Girouard, Jean-Philippe Dion looks at the journey of the man who was only 33 years old at the time of his death.
Through the eyes of his wife, whom he left in grief, we discover another side of this man who fought to defend people who were victims of injustice.
“He was a very anxious person, worried about his life and his performance. He was an emotional being and reacted sensitively to the various events he reported on,” said Ms Préfontaine. “It took him several days to get these bad images out of his head.”
