Wilma Petrillo, Gal Costa’s widow, posted a photo of her on the singer’s Instagram this Thursday (12). It’s not yet known whether the post was accidental or intentional, although followers and fans of the singer have sparked the act.
In the click titled “Salvador,” she appears wearing sunglasses and petting a dog. Gal died in November 2022 and the cause of death was not disclosed.
“The memory of the incredible gal is treated like this,” one fan wrote in the comments. Another was blunt: “Let’s all report this as fake content. This impostor will not administer Gal’s legacy.”
A fan asked someone to manage the account, recalling that nothing has been released since the singer’s death. “When they finally release something, Gal won’t be there. Holy shit…” he ground out. While many suggested it might have been unintentional, one person said he doesn’t believe in the possibility. “Hey? Against lynching people. But I don’t think it was posted by mistake either. I find it all ugly. On both sides.”
There was also a fan who stated that Gal Costa’s profile should be managed by a communications consultant. “Take a look at Elza Soares’ account, for example, which is always full of content that eases fans’ nostalgia. Gal has been since she died you have nothing left and if you have it is it a third party photo?! Oh do me a favor,” he wrote.
