The Galaxy S24 Ultra and its little brothers Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus are almost completely revealed just over a month before their presentation. Enough to confirm previous rumors such as the arrival of the X5 or the flatter design of the Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 shouldn’t be long in coming, its official presentation is expected to take place around January 17, 2024, more precisely. If you can’t wait, the Windows Report website released a huge leak this weekend containing not only images but also the full spec sheet of future Samsung smartphones.
Technical data sheet: The X5 telephoto lens is confirmed
The technical sheet of the Galaxy S24 Ultra should be very close to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, to our greatest delight, since it is undoubtedly a reference for Android. In particular, the presence of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip instead of an Exynos 2400, as expected on the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, should give it a real advantage.
According to Windows Report, there would still be some notable changes. Nothing that hasn’t already been covered in previous leaks, but this helps substantiate them a little more.
The biggest change would be the photography configuration as we would be moving from an X10 telephoto lens to an X5 telephoto lens. A decision that is likely to cause controversy, as the Galaxy S Ultra’s X10 telephoto lens could be a real differentiator, especially for travel photography. For this occasion, Samsung would change the sensor hidden behind the lens, moving from a 10 Mpx sensor to 50 Mpx. This should theoretically make it possible to crop the image without too much loss, but also to get a digital zoom up to X10 without too much loss.
Therefore, if Samsung succeeds, we could achieve greater photo versatility than the X3 and X10 combination with 12 and 10 Mpx sensors of the previous Galaxy S Ultra. If the Seoul company makes this decision, we expect all of this to be detailed during Galaxy Unpacked in January 2024.
Two further innovations are to be expected: a possible 1.9x larger vapor chamber to tame the new SoC and ensure good cooling, as well as a slightly less curved screen. A fundamental trend that we have observed since the Galaxy S22, which now tends to favor ever thinner screens.
Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus: relatively few changes to be expected
The Windows report assumes that there will be fewer new functions for the S24 and S24 Plus.
The Plus model would move to a larger 6.7-inch screen compared to 6.6 inches previously, as well as a QHD+ resolution. The battery would expand to 4,900 mAh, compared to 4,700 mAh before. The lowest configuration would start with 12GB of RAM, compared to 8GB on the S23 Plus. And that’s about it.
The Galaxy S24, in turn, would see even fewer changes: a battery increased to 4,000 mAh compared to 3,900 mAh before and a screen that increases to 6.2 inches compared to 6.1 on the S23.
AI in your pocket
We know that Samsung has officially announced that its next conference will highlight a new brand: Galaxy AI. The basic idea is simple: use the extraordinary appeal of generative AI to sell your next smartphones.
Windows Report discusses some specific use cases Samsung could imagine:
- Live translation from messaging apps;
- Editing and enhancing photos;
- Improved search functions.
Colors
Let’s end on a lighter note: the images have been shared and allow us to get a first impression of the S24’s colors. Samsung would have chosen:

All models would have the same colors, although a slight difference is to be expected between the Galaxy S24 Ultra and its cheaper counterparts.
