Gary Holt (Exodus) claims to have heard new music from Kerry King (Slayer). "really, really, really good" -MetalZone

Gary Holt says that while he hasn't heard the music from the new project led by Slayer founder Kerry King, he's heard some people say great things about it.

The Exodus frontman, who toured with Slayer for nearly nine years, recently appeared on an episode of the radio show “Full Metal Jackie.”

During the interview (see below), Holt said, among other things: “First of all, I have to say, I haven't heard anything about it. Not the slightest note. I heard it was really, really, really good. I can’t wait to hear it.”

He added: “My time with Kerry was remarkable. He is one of the most impressive rhythm guitarists in the world. People don't realize how impressive his right hand picking technique is. Playing with him was a joy, it was great. So I’m looking forward to hearing it.”

Holt also reveals that he “hasn’t seen a single member of Slayer since the group’s last show” in 2019.

Kerry's new band, apparently simply called Kerry King, have so far announced two shows, both scheduled for May in the US.

Exodus is currently working on a new album, scheduled for release in 2024.

For his part, King recently confirmed that his new project will be unveiled next year and that drummer Paul Bostaph is indeed part of the lineup.
