Gas: Optimism for Nord Stream plants, price falls to 169 euros

The gas price in Amsterdam falls below 170 euros per megawatt hour (169.25 euros), down 5.7%. The market is eyeing Germany’s optimism about the arrival of a turbine from Canada that will serve maintenance work on the Nord Stream pipeline, which begins Monday, according to Bloomberg. Returning the turbine, located in Canada, for maintenance “allows for an increase in gas flows to Europe,” reports Bloomberg, citing statements by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pescov.
