Good morning and happy Tuesday! How are you all? I’ve been traveling a lot in the past week. It was pretty sweet, but I’m back now. So, you have to deal with that.

Gasoline prices anyway. Well, for the first time in a long time, I wish I had better news. Things seem to be heading in the right direction again. According to AAA’s gas price tracker, the average price of a gallon of gas is now $4.10. That’s a cent more than yesterday’s average. Still, it’s better than before. We are now about 23 cents down from a month ago.

However, you shouldn’t expect this price drop to last forever. Fox News is reporting that a storm is upon us and prices may end up right back where they were at the peak of those price jumps.

After a brief dip, gas prices are expected to pick up again, with the national average potentially reaching $4.20 a gallon, according to an industry expert.

Last week, gasoline futures were up 30 cents, “which is all bad news for the consumer,” according to Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates.

Lipow expects the national average to rise back to $4.15 to $4.20 a gallon even if some states suspend gas taxes.

Georgia, Maryland and Connecticut suspended their state gasoline excise taxes, which would have lowered the national average, but Lipow told FOX Business that “last week’s news caused a significant price rally that offsets some of those tax cuts.”

“How could the world have almost 5 million barrels a day of alternative supplies if the European Union banned all Russian oil imports? said Lipo. “It’s just not possible today.”

So, uh, I guess enjoy this relative break we’re getting right now. That can be as good as it gets for a while.
