Maybe there is a solution for Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Mohammad Abu Salmiya, director of the facility, said medical staff and patients were ready to evacuate if Israel allows it. The doctor’s words were broadcast on Radio Ashams in Nazareth and circulated in Israeli newspapers. There are over 700 patients in the hospital, including dialysis patients and the injured. There were also three deaths and another four deaths due to lack of oxygen.
The hostage mystery
Negotiations between Hamas and Israel over the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip on October 7 could be reaching a turning point. This was revealed by NBC citing an official from Joe Biden’s administration. According to the American broadcaster, an agreement has been reached between the two parties to release around 80 Israeli women and children in exchange for Palestinian women and teenagers imprisoned in Israel. An indiscretion that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself confirmed. The White House source said the United States is also exploring other options, noting that there is no certainty that any proposed agreement will be successful. In an interview with CNN, U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan did not confirm that the agreement had been reached, but said that “there are ongoing hostage negotiations involving the Israelis, Qatar and also Egypt.” A little later, Hamas’ comment also arrived. The Palestinian militiamen, writes Portal, have decided to suspend negotiations due to the situation in the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza, which was the target of attacks by the Tel Aviv army.
Scholz: “I am against the immediate ceasefire in Gaza”
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is against an “immediate” ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. “I openly admit that I do not believe calls for an immediate ceasefire or a long pause (in fighting), which are more or less the same thing. Because that would mean that Israel would give Hamas the opportunity to replace rockets or procure new ones,” he explained.
The evacuation of Al-Shifa Hospital
Meanwhile, the war on the field continues. This morning, the Israeli army said it would help evacuate Gaza’s Al Shifa Hospital, the city’s largest, over the next 24 hours, starting with newborns being admitted to the hospital. Military spokesman Daniel Hagari reported that hospital staff had asked for help: “We will help the children in the children’s ward to reach a safer hospital. We will provide the necessary assistance.” The NGO Physicians for Human Rights Israel has reported the deaths of two Premature babies reported after outage at hospital, which has been without power and internet connection since yesterday, November 11th. “Due to the lack of electricity – explains the organization – we can report that the neonatal intensive care unit is no longer functioning. Two premature babies have died and there is a real threat to the lives of another 37 premature babies.” According to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, 1,500 patients are still in hospital, as are the same number of health workers and 20,000 people who have taken refuge there.
Hamas: “A hospital building destroyed”
Hamas’ deputy health minister said an Israeli attack destroyed a building at Shifa Hospital. This is the wing of the facility dedicated to heart disease. Members of the NGO Doctors Without Borders warned that there was a real risk that “these hospitals will become morgues.” Meanwhile, the Israeli army reiterated that Al-Shifa Hospital was not surrounded. As Haaretz reports, spokesman Hagari confirmed: “We are fighting with terrorists who choose to fight right next to the hospital.” We checked our systems and once again there was a failed rocket launch by terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. Hamas is committing a war crime by using hospitals to protect itself.
