“It is a disgrace for the international community to allow this heinous crime to continue for almost two months.”
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Tuesday accused Israel of genocide in the Gaza Strip and called for an “international investigation into the massacres committed by Israel.” The emir criticized the international community, which he accused of “remaining inactive in the face of this heinous crime and allowing it to continue for almost two months.” According to him, “systematic and targeted massacres of innocent civilians, including women and children,” are being carried out in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Thani, speaking at the Gulf leaders’ summit in Doha, Qatar, added that his country “continues its mediation efforts, which have enabled the release of a number of Palestinian prisoners and “Israelis detained in the Gaza Strip.” He mentioned that the agreement also provided humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and called for its expansion “to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.” “Ceasefires are not an alternative to a full ceasefire,” he stressed, calling on the UN Security Council to take responsibility and bring Israel back to the negotiating table.
Qatar played a key mediating role in negotiations that led to the release of dozens of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and access to humanitarian aid during a seven-day ceasefire that ended on Friday. However, Mossad chief Dadi Barnea announced on Saturday that negotiations had failed and ordered his agents to leave Qatar after Hamas refused to release 10 more women. Barnea thanked Qatar as well as Egypt and the United States for its efforts. Remember that even after the agreement, at least 17 other women remained trapped in the Gaza Strip and the terrorist organization refused to release Ariel, Kfir and Shiri Bibas, claiming they were dead without having any evidence.
