The Israeli army has announced that it is “expanding operations in the Khan Younis area” in the southern Gaza Strip. The Times of Israel reports on it. The IDF reported an incident in which Paratrooper Brigade soldiers spotted a Hamas operative exiting a tunnel with a rocket-propelled grenade and responded by throwing grenades at him and into the tunnel. The army added that paratroopers also spotted Hamas gunmen in a building and directed tank fire at them. Meanwhile, Israeli television Channel 12 shared what was believed to be a recent photo of Mohammed Deif, the commander of the al-Qassam Brigades. The last shooting came in 2001, when he was released from a Palestinian Authority prison.

Little is still known about Mohammed Deif. However, according to Jewish media, the man appears to be missing an eye and limping. It also appears that the photo was obtained by the Tel Aviv Defense Forces during their offensive in the Gaza Strip, but the time when it was taken was not specified, nor was it possible to verify its authenticity. The so-called “Gaza spirit” is one of Israel's main goals. Over the years they tried to kill him seven times.
