Russian energy giant Gazprom is blaming Ukraine, saying it has left only one access point for Russian gas to flow through Europe and that this is undermining the security of gas supplies. Ria news agency reported: Russian gas flows to Europe through Ukraine fell by a quarter after Kyiv shut down a key transit route.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov assured that Russia is still committed to fulfilling agreements for the supply of its gas, commenting on Ukraine’s decision to close an access point on the gas transit route to Europe: “Russia has always reliably fulfilled and intends to fulfill its contractual obligations To continue to fulfill obligations, it undertakes to fulfill its contractual obligations. The Ukrainian side announced some force majeure conditions to justify the decision, the spokesman explained, we have already heard from Gazprom that no notification and explanation on the cause of the force majeure was provided.
