General Elections: FARDS and FRAPP allies stand up

2nd constituency

Christian Baptiste, mayor of Sainte-Anne and candidate in the 2nd arrondissement, held a press conference in Le Gosier last night, Saturday May 14, to introduce his deputy: Natasha Gordon, who is represented by the municipal majority of Le Moule alongside Gabrielle Louis Carabin was elected.

“A real symbol,” as the candidate emphasizes:

It really comes from the social and solidarity economy. She’s a freelance nurse so she has her own business and we know how important small businesses are to the economy. It’s also a political symbol because I defend equality between men and women. While she’s not deputy mayor, she’s also supposed to respond to this distrust of the usual politicians. The last point is transmission, because this is a young woman and it’s about creating our future political leaders.

The press conference held by Christian Baptiste was a show of power for the candidate over supporters who reaffirmed their commitment to campaign alongside him. Gabrielle Louis-Carabin was accompanied by several of her assistants and advisers. Even more surprising is the presence of Wennie Youna Molia and Jules Fraire, 3rd and 6th Deputy Mayor of Le Gosier respectively.

Without forgetting Marcelin Lucien Zami, member of the majority of Cédric Cornet. The presence of opposition forces at the Mayor of Gosier was also noted, Patrice-Pierre Justin, Jocelyne Virolan and Guylène Jeanne, Justine Benin’s current deputy, outgoing deputy.

1st constituency

Another supporter of Christian Baptiste, Dominique Biras, a well-known entrepreneur in Guadeloupe, submitted his candidacy for the 1st constituency in Les Abymes last night (Saturday). He is replaced by Liliane Passé-Coutrin, Marie-Galante’s clerk.

I am a businesswoman, mother of three children. It’s a local election and I think Marie-Galante particularly needs the support of a strong MP. This also applies to Les Abymes, Pointe-à-Pitre and Morne-à-l’Eau.

The duo benefits from strong support from FRAPP President Eric Jalton. Candidate priorities include ecology, economy and the insularity issues of certain southern islands.
