The previous managing director Marc Proulx is leaving his position with immediate effect.
In November 2022, he appealed to court against the one-month suspension without pay imposed on him by the city council.
This suspension was a chapter in the history of the city clerk’s dismissal because she was not registered with the Quebec Bar in accordance with her terms of employment. According to the city council, Marc Proulx was aware of this fact and should have informed elected officials.

Audrey Beaulieu, who held the position of Deputy Director General and Head of Human Resources, will now become Director General.
For her part, Ariane Tremblay, Finance Director and Treasurer, will become Deputy Director General, but will retain her role as Treasurer.
The municipality says Sophie Tremblay will serve as acting general manager on an interim basis. Caroline Letarte will also take on the position of deputy clerk.
A departure and a work stoppage forced this major restructuring. A special council meeting was scheduled for Thursday evening to adopt these changes.
Other disputes
A few years earlier, in 2016, the municipality of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval had to pay $1.2 million to compensate two former executives who were wrongfully fired.
Gaétan Bussières, former general manager of Sainte-Brigitte, and Sylvain Déry, former general counsel, shared the total of $1.2 million.
The two former executives were fired some time after Mayor Wanita Daniele came to power in 2014.
In March 2022, former mayor Alain Dufresne’s widow, France Fortier, was elected by acclamation to the town hall of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval.
Her late husband Alain Dufresne won the election on November 7, 2021, but died shortly afterwards from a devastating cancer.
