The Seahawks will have starting quarterback Geno Smith for Thursday night’s NFC West showdown with the 49ers.
Smith, who left Sunday’s game in Los Angeles with a triceps bruise and later returned to the game late in the fourth quarter, is active for Thursday night’s game despite being limited in practice this week.
However, the Seahawks will not have leading rusher Kenneth Walker III, who left Sunday’s game with an oblique injury.
With Walker out, rookie Kenny McIntosh is active for the first time and will make his Seahawks debut after returning from injured reserve earlier this month to help out at running back along with Zach Charbonnet and DeeJay Dallas.
“He’s really versatile,” Carroll said of McIntosh. “He’s more of a scat-back guy, quick and explosive, really quick, catches the ball really well. You think that when he gets his hands on the ball he’s going to destroy it. That’s how he makes you feel.”
This week, safety Jamal Adams is back after missing last week’s game. Also active are defensive back Coby Bryant, who was activated from injured reserve on Thursday, and quarterback Brett Rypien, who was called up from the practice squad.
Unlike recent games, Myles Adams is active on defense while freshman Cameron Young is inactive. For the first time since signing with the team last month, fullback Frank Clark Sr. is inactive.
For the 49ers, starting right guard Spencer Burford is inactive after being listed as questionable with a knee injury.
Here are the inactives from both teams:
Seattle Seahawks
- RB Kenneth Walker III
- LB Frank Clark Sr.
- T McClendon Curtis
