George Soros influenced the media and personalities with the contribution of millions of dollars

Billionaire George Soros is linked to some of the most influential media figures in the US and abroad through the money he contributes to groups linked to them, a new study shows.

A report by MRC Business, part of the conservative Center for Media Research, revealed that 253 media groups around the world, including at least 54 journalists, are linked to George Soros through the money the billionaire is donating to various organizations them.

According to the study’s authors, Joseph Vazquez and Dan Schneider, billionaire George Soros has invested more than $32 billion in his organizations to spread his plan on abortion, the economy, LGBT, and other issues around the world. “They paid off.”

Additionally, the authors claim that funding Soros “helped him develop connections with some of the biggest media figures in the US and abroad and helped indoctrinate millions with his perspective.” MRC Business found at least 54 prominent media figures — anchors, columnists, editors, news executives, and journalists — who are related to Soros through their ties to the organizations he funds. These include figures such as NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt and Washington Post senior writer Sally Buzbee.

According to analysts, beneficiaries include journalists and business professionals from CNN, CBS, NBC, NPR, Washington Post, ABC, CBS, Bloomberg News, Portal and The New York Times, among others.

According to MRC Business research, between 2016 and 2020, Soros paid out at least $131 million through various organizations to influence media groups. “This network of media connections allows Soros to have significant influence over what stories the media reports, how they report those stories, and what stories they don’t report,” they said.

Additionally, the report recalls that the magnate told The New York Times in 2019 that he was working to “turn the arc of the story in the right direction” and that he was using his media influence to do so.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zajárova described the report as a “nuclear explosion” for the United States.

“If it is shown that the major US media received money and then corrected the presentation of the information, then all of America’s democracy will be wrapped in its constitution and thrown into the dustbin of history,” the spokeswoman wrote in her Telegram.

In this sense, he recalled that it was Washington that has “always” insisted that the freedom and impartiality of the media is the pillar of the state’s democratic structure.

Support for Democratic candidates

Soros’ donations also benefited the democratic structure. For last year’s midterm elections, pro-government candidates’ campaigns received $170 million in funding, according to CNBC.

His donations were also made through the Open Society Policy Center, which donated $138 million. It is a non-profit organization that is part of the Open Society Foundations network founded by Soros and whose board includes two of the billionaire’s sons.

According to the publication, the majority of Soros’ personal donations in 2022 were made through two Political Action Committees (PACs), which can raise and spend an unlimited amount of money. These are Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II, run by Alexander Soros, the tycoon’s son. Both PACs donated millions of dollars to organizations working for the Democratic candidates’ campaign.
