(ANSA) — NEW YORK, JAN 02 — The recession will hit a third of the global economy. This was stated by IMF Director General Kristalina Georgieva, warning of a 2023 that may be more difficult than the previous 12 months.
“We expect a third of the world economy to be in recession,” Georgieva says, repeating that the fund expects half of the European Union to be in recession. Georgieva’s words, reports the Financial Times, seem to point to the possibility of a downward revision of growth for 2023. (ANSA).
